As a young kid I had often thought about flying.
Not so much to take a major interest in it, but just from time to time
thought about flying. My grandad had been in WWII flying a PBM
Mariner. I used to look at all the old photo albums from his military
days and wonder what it would be like to fly something like that.
After the war, he started crop dusting company in Hereford, Texas. I don't
remember much about it since I was just a baby at the time. I do
remember taking a few family vacations in an old Cessna down to Possum
Kingdom Lake. That was the end of my flying days until just recently.
I have been a professional drummer and have played all up and
down the East coast along with all over Texas. I put out a self titled
CD in Atlanta GA, titled "On The Loose" This was a blues band and a
collaboration of several studio musicians that I had gotten to know through
the years. You can still find several reviews on the net by doing a
simple search. I have recently hung up my career as a
professional musician and needed to fill the void that was left by music.
This is where flying came back into my life. Both
my dad and granddad were both pilots at one time in their lives. It
seemed fitting that it was my time to accomplish this goal as well.
The idea of jumping in a plane and flying all over, where ever I wanted to
go was exciting to me. I look forward to flying into small airports to
just go have lunch, or maybe visit friends, mini-vacation, or just an excuse
to go fly.
One thing that has really peeked my interest is
Aerial Photography/Video. I plan on documenting my many adventures as I
trek across the sky and the land. This is an exciting time in my life and
I look forward to many many great flights and fun places to visit as I turn the
page into a new chapter of my life. If you are ever in the area of
Granbury, Texas, drop by the Sky-Tec Plant on KGDJ for a tour. I hope to see
ya'll in the air or on the ground somewhere down the road
